Understanding AI Analysis Results

Learn how to interpret DealView's AI analysis output, including extracted data, risk scores, and recommendations.

When DealView analyzes a contract, it extracts dozens of data points. Here's how to understand and use the results.

Analysis Overview

After processing, each contract shows an Analysis tab with:

  • Key Information - Parties, dates, value, type
  • Risk Assessment - Overall score and flagged issues
  • Extracted Terms - Detailed clause analysis
  • Obligations - Commitments and deadlines
  • Timeline - Important dates visualized

Key Information Panel

The top section summarizes critical details:

Effective DateWhen the contract becomes active
Expiration DateWhen it ends (if specified)

Click the edit icon next to any field to correct AI extraction errors. Your edits are saved and improve future accuracy.

Risk Assessment

DealView analyzes 25+ risk factors and provides:

Overall Risk Score

A 0-100 score indicating contract risk level:

  • 0-30 (Green) - Low risk, standard terms
  • 31-60 (Yellow) - Moderate risk, review recommended
  • 61-100 (Red) - High risk, attention required

Risk Categories

Individual scores for:

  • Financial Risk - Payment terms, penalties, liability caps
  • Legal Risk - Jurisdiction, dispute resolution, indemnification
  • Operational Risk - Performance obligations, SLAs, deadlines
  • Compliance Risk - Regulatory requirements, data handling

Flagged Issues

Specific concerns identified, such as:

  • Unlimited liability clauses
  • Missing data protection provisions
  • Unusual termination terms
  • One-sided indemnification

Obligations Tracker

The AI extracts actionable obligations:

  • What - The specific commitment
  • Who - Responsible party
  • When - Due date or deadline
  • Status - Pending, Complete, Overdue

Set reminders for important obligations directly from the analysis.

Confidence Indicators

Some extractions show confidence levels:

  • High Confidence - Clear, unambiguous text
  • Medium Confidence - Inferred from context
  • Low Confidence - Uncertain, needs review

Viewing Source Text

For any extracted field, click View Source to see:

  • The exact text in the contract
  • Page and paragraph location
  • Context around the extraction

This helps verify accuracy and understand AI reasoning.

Common Questions

Why is a field empty? The contract may not contain that information, or the AI couldn't extract it confidently.

Can I trust the risk score? Risk scores are directional guidance. High-value or complex contracts should always receive human review.

How do I report extraction errors? Click the feedback button on any extraction to report issues. This helps improve AI accuracy.
