The Obligation Agent tracks important dates and obligations in your contracts, ensuring you never miss a critical deadline.

How It Works

The Obligation Agent scans your contracts and:

  1. Extracts obligations from AI analysis
  2. Monitors upcoming deadlines within 30 days
  3. Creates reminder actions before due dates
  4. Tracks obligation completion status

What It Tracks

The agent monitors various obligation types:

Obligation Sources

Obligations come from AI analysis of your contracts. The more detailed your contracts, the more obligations the agent can track.

Look-Ahead Window

The agent creates reminders for:

  • Obligations due within 30 days
  • Important dates approaching
  • Recurring obligations (next occurrence)

Priority Levels

Deadline urgency determines priority:

Reminder Actions

When you approve an obligation reminder:

  1. A notification is sent to relevant team members
  2. The obligation is marked as "reminded"
  3. You can track completion from the contract page

Managing Obligations

From the contract detail page:

  1. Go to the Obligations tab
  2. View all extracted obligations with due dates
  3. Mark obligations as complete when fulfilled
  4. Add notes about completion status
Manual Obligations

You can manually add obligations that weren't extracted by AI. Go to the contract page and click "Add Obligation" in the Obligations tab.

Avoiding Duplicate Reminders

The agent won't create duplicate reminders for:

  • Obligations that already have pending actions
  • Completed obligations
  • Obligations with recent reminders (within 7 days)

Best Practices

For effective obligation tracking:

  • Review obligations after each contract upload
  • Correct any incorrectly extracted dates
  • Mark obligations complete when fulfilled
  • Use obligation data for contract audits

Integration with Calendar

Obligation dates can be:

  • Exported to calendar applications
  • Included in scheduled reports
  • Synced with external project management tools (Enterprise)
