Understanding AI Operation Quotas
Learn how DealView's AI operation system works, including migration credits and monthly quotas.
DealView uses AI operations to analyze your contracts. Here's how the quota system works.
What is an AI Operation?
An AI operation is one complete analysis of a contract document. Each time DealView's AI processes a contract, it counts as one operation.
AI operations include:
- Initial analysis when uploading
- Re-analysis when updating
- OCR processing for scanned documents
- Bulk import processing
Two-Bucket Quota Model
DealView uses two types of AI operation quotas:
Migration Credit (One-Time)
A generous allowance for your initial setup:
- Use during onboarding to bulk-import existing contracts
- Never expires or resets
- Consumed first before monthly quota
Monthly Quota (Recurring)
Ongoing operations for regular use:
- Resets at the beginning of each billing cycle
- Sized for typical monthly contract activity
- Can be supplemented with add-on packs
DealView always uses your migration credit first, then monthly quota. This maximizes your monthly allowance for ongoing work.

Checking Your Usage
View your current usage:
- Go to Settings → Billing
- See the Usage section
- View remaining migration credit and monthly quota
You'll also see:
- Usage history chart
- Projected usage based on current rate
- Days until monthly reset
What Happens at 100%?
When you reach 100% of your quota:
- New AI operations are paused
- You'll see an upgrade prompt
- Existing contracts remain accessible
- Uploads are still possible (without AI analysis)
DealView alerts you when you reach 80% of your quota so you can plan accordingly.

Reducing Usage
Optimize your AI usage:
- Use bulk import - Migration credit is more generous
- Avoid duplicate uploads - Check before re-uploading
- Skip re-analysis - Don't re-analyze unchanged contracts
- Plan imports - Import contracts in batches to track usage
Common Questions
Do failed analyses count? No, only successful analyses count toward your quota.
What about OCR? OCR processing counts as an AI operation (scanned PDFs use one operation).
Can I roll over unused quota? Monthly quota doesn't roll over. Migration credit never expires.
When does monthly quota reset? At midnight UTC on your billing date each month.
