DealView's AI can automatically fill draft variables and suggest appropriate clauses based on contract context. This accelerates drafting while maintaining quality.

AI Assistance Panel

The AI Assistance Panel appears on the right side of the draft editor. It provides:

  • Variable filling suggestions
  • Clause recommendations
  • Content from your clause library
  • AI-generated alternatives

Filling Variables with AI

Fill All Variables

To fill all empty variables at once:

  1. Open your draft
  2. Click AI Fill All in the assistance panel
  3. Review the suggested values
  4. Accept or modify each suggestion
  5. Click Apply Changes
Review Suggestions

Always review AI-suggested values before applying. The AI uses context from the draft and counterparty information, but may not always match your specific needs.

Fill Individual Variables

For specific variables:

  1. Click on a variable in the draft
  2. View the AI suggestion in the panel
  3. Accept, modify, or enter your own value
  4. The variable is updated in the draft

Variable Sources

AI considers multiple sources when suggesting values:

SourcePriorityDescription
Your DataHighestPrevious contracts with same counterparty
Clause LibraryHighYour saved standard clauses
TemplatesMediumDefault values from the template
AI GenerationLowerGenerated based on context

Clause Suggestions

The AI suggests clauses based on:

  • Contract type (NDA, MSA, SOW, etc.)
  • Missing standard provisions
  • Risk mitigation needs
  • Industry best practices

Your Clause Library First

Suggestions from your clause library are marked with a badge and appear first. These are your pre-approved, standard clauses.

Build Your Library

Add frequently used clauses to your Clause Library. They'll appear first in AI suggestions for future drafts.

Accepting Clause Suggestions

  1. Review the suggested clause
  2. Click Insert to add it to your draft
  3. Or click Customize to modify before inserting

AI Confidence Scores

Each suggestion includes a confidence score (0-100%):

ScoreMeaning
80-100%High confidence - likely accurate
60-80%Medium confidence - review recommended
Below 60%Low confidence - manual review required

AI Operations Usage

AI drafting assistance uses your AI operations quota:

  • Each "Fill All" counts as 1 operation
  • Individual suggestions don't count separately
  • Review your remaining quota in Settings > Billing

Best Practices

For effective AI-assisted drafting:

  1. Start with templates - AI works better with structured content
  2. Add counterparty info - More context means better suggestions
  3. Build your clause library - Your clauses take priority
  4. Review before accepting - AI assists, you decide

Troubleshooting

AI suggestions not appearing?

  • Check that the draft has variables to fill
  • Verify you have remaining AI operations
  • Ensure the draft is in "Draft" status

Poor quality suggestions?

  • Add more context (counterparty, deal value)
  • Use more specific variable names
  • Build up your clause library
